Perspective and Recent Research:
Conducts research and develops programmes in police knowledge and practice, particularly: police leadership; organisational behaviour in policing professions; police in multi-professional contexts; policing in transitional societies; role conflicts experienced by professionals in socially dynamics contexts; organisational and cultural change amongst police professional and government officials.
Issues and Questions in Researching Professional Learning/Responsibility:
Transposing understandings of professionalism and professional practice between differing socio-cultural settings;
Practices amongst security professions in societies transitioning between autocratic and democratic forms of governance.
Justice sector professions in periods of justice sector reform in post conflict societies.
The emergence of differing professional practices amongst those charged with contributing to community policing in transitional societies.
